कर्नाटकातील मंगळूर येथील कुक्के सुब्रमण्य मंदिरात दरवर्षी साज-या केल्या जाणा-या 'मेद स्नान' नावाच्या विधीचे हे छायाचित्र आहे. भाविक म्हणविणारे हे भोळसट लोक ब्राह्मणांनी उष्टे करून टाकलेल्या अन्नावरून लोटांगण घालीत चालले आहेत. कोणाच्या तरी उष्ट्या अन्नावरून उघड्या अंगाने लोळण्याचा किळसवाणा प्रकार श्रद्धेचा भाग केवळ भारतासारख्या बुरसटलेल्या देशातच होऊ शकतो.
The problem with these people is they are blind followers of traditions. If we try to explain how this is wrong and illogical they will tend to put a fight (south Indians). Thanks to Jyotirao Phule and Dr. Ambedkar , because of them we can think free and question the wrong traditions at least in Maharashtra.
